END-OF-TERM SELF-ASSESSMENT
My name is Irena Andruškevič, I am second year student of psychology on Mykolo Romerio University. The aim of this work is to analyze my success in learning ESP during third term.
To my mind, I have not improved my summery writing skills. Probably, my summaries are better than in the first term but still there is a lot to improve. As ESP course is going to an end so I will try improve summary writing skills on my own.
My vocabulary tests on modules in psychology were not as successful as last term. They were even worse than during first term. The reason could be that they were much more difficult. My average result is only 65%.
As in previous terms my listening performance is good enough, but not perfect. I am better at multiple-choice activities and the most difficult activity for me is blank filling.
I enjoyed making power point presentation on child developmental stages. I was satisfied with my results. I enjoyed listening peers power point presentations.
Unfortunately, this term was only few short talks on ESP themes. I really enjoyed preparing short talks ant it was a good opportunity to earn a good mark.
To sum up, I can say that ESP course this term was more difficult than previous year. I hope that in future I will improve my ESP skills.

Summary
You True Colours
It is difficult even to imagine how colors can influence human mind. Thus, who know how powerful colors are can use their knowledge to make people buy their products or work harder.
Food marketing is one of the branches that use colors to make their products more appealing. In this branch, it is very important to pay attention to cultural aspects. Different cultures have different preferences for the colors. While one country prefer green apples other prefer glossy red.
John Ott has discovered that color can affect nervous system. Red color increase blood pressure while blue lowers it. In the red surrounding people may feel hungry and in the hurry. Fast food restaurants use this trick.
People even judge cleaning products like soap powder by color of it box. It is evident that colors have huge influence on human mind.

Self-Assessment of Success in Listening Practice
I am second year student of psychology on Mykolo Romerio University. The aim of this work is to analyze my success in online listening practise. From the list of programmes that focus on psychology I have chosen “Psychology of driving“ and “ Impact of cat’s purring on their owners”.
The rate of speaking was not very fast in both listening. I managed to hear every word that they have said but it was difficult to understand where the ends of the sentence are. I have listened to them twice like in exam.
To my mind, the most useful exercises for improving listening skills are multiple-choice exercises. During this exercises we have different options to choose and while searching which is suitable we analyse text more accurate.
My listening skills are good enough, but not perfect. Sometimes it is difficult for me to understand authentic speech and sometimes I understand it perfectly. Main problem is that, usually, I am sure that I have heard correct answer but it is no true.
If I had to take the listening exam today probably, I would pass it but you never know... However, I have some time before the listening exam so it is possible to improve my listening skills. I started to watch my favourite TV series without translation and I found a friend from England to correspond.
I hope that listening exam paper will not be as difficult as I expect and I will manage to pass it easily.

END-OF-TERM SELF-ASSESSMENT
My name is Irena Andruškevič, I am first year student of psychology on Mykolo Romerio University. The aim of this work is to analyze my success in learning ESP during second term.
I have written a few summaries during this term. In my opinion, my summaries were quite good, but still there is space for improvements. However, my summary writing skills has improved comparing with last term summaries.
My vocabulary tests on modules in psychology were quite successful. No doubt, they were much better, than last term. My lowest mark in previous term was 3.3 while in this it was 8.
Unfortunately, I have missed the class dictation, but I am sure that it was great innovation in process of learning language. I am looking forward to have a possibility to write dictation with all group.
My listening performance is still good enough, but not perfect. I wish I had been better in it because these skills are very important for psychologist.
I was interested in listening to peers power point presentations. I have used the opportunity to ask questions or comment their work. It was a great fun for me.
That is more, I enjoyed making power point presentation on non verbal communication. To my mind, my presentation was great. I enjoyed doing it and it was good opportunity to improve speaking in public.
To my mind, my short talks on ESP themes in class were satisfying. Themes were interesting and while looking for information I have found many useful things for me.
To sum up, I can say that my ESP has improved and I am glad that during two terms, I managed to learn so many new things and of course, I am glad that work was not oppressive.

Phobias
A phobia is strong fear or dread of a thing or event. The fear is not rational. Sometimes even thinking of the feared situation causes panic. People with phobias avoid the feared situation as much as possible, which can restrict their lives.
One of the most interesting phobias for me is SIDERODROMOPHOBIA, the irrational fear of trains. People with this phobia may express feeling of panic, feeling of terror, rapid heartbeat etc. There is no set list of treatments for siderodromophobia. Patient should always seek professional medical advice. Possible treatment can be behavior therapy or antianxiety medication.
Other specific phobia is AILUROPHOBIA. It is a persistent fear of cats. People who suffer from this phobia have fear of physical contact, such as bites and scratches, they can also be afraid of meeting cat in the dark, cat-like toys, cat shadows etc. To deal with this phobia patient should be strongly motivated. Traditional therapy is slowly becoming accustomed to cat fur, cat toy and finally a kitten.
Even the rich and famous people suffer from phobias. Famous psychologist Sigmund Freud was siderodromophobic. That is more, Napoleon Bonaparte, Julius Caesar, Mussolini and Hitler suffered from ailurophobia.
Phobia is annoying disorder that needs to be treated. The main aim of treatment is to help to reduce symptoms that people with various phobias could live more normally.

True Happiness
True happiness is such a rare psychical state that the whole of the world is trying but can not find it. Why is happiness such an infrequent thing? Maybe, it is not where all of us have been looking for it.
Somehow, different nations have different understanding of happiness. However, thus nations that may be thought of be unhappy, claim that they are happy. Australia or Africa, people there sometimes even do not have what to drink, but steel they are smiling and feeling good. So what is wrong with Lithuania people? Why in World Average Happiness In 95 Nations our position is only 83? It can be because of cold and wet climate, low salaries, nation features or… Attitude to daily things what can bring happiness, but are ignored. Lithuanian people should more pay attention to simply, everyday things like spending time with friends, playing with pets, watching interesting films, enjoying free time activities. This, sometimes forgotten things, usually bring more pleasure than money or power.
“You will never be happier than you expect. To change your happiness, change your expectation.” This famous happiness quote by Bette Davis is perfect example of what can we do to get out of this happiness crisis.

Richard Wiseman's Experiment
Professor Richard Wiseman started his career as a magician but later he became a psychologist. As a psychologist, he specialises in such areas as deception, luck and the paranormal. Wiseman’s researches in these areas became very popular. Over one million people have taken part in his breathtaking experiment.
One of his most famous works is exploring lucky people. Professor Wiseman worked with lucky and unlucky people. Aim of this work was to find why some people achieve a lot without special work or talent. This research helped to point out main techniques that help people think and behave like a lucky person.
Another Professor Wiseman’s research is about names and surnames. In this research, he was trying to find how people’s names are related to their career choices, lifestyles etc. He found out that people who are happy with their names achieve more than people who would like to change their names.
Other Richard Wiseman’s experiment are also amazing and who still don’t know anything about them should read and even participate in them, because it may help to broaden mind.
